Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information VidBonk collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everyone who uses our website and tools, wherever you are located.

1. Who we are

VidBonk provides web-based tools that help creators and marketers look up and analyze public YouTube videos and channels. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to VidBonk. For privacy questions, we are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@vidbonk.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service.

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier. We use these to create and identify your account. We also store a credit balance and a record of your credit transactions so the tools work correctly.

Sign-in tokens

Google provides a sign-in token (and, where available, a refresh token). We store these in encrypted form and use them only to let you revoke our access if you delete your account. We do not use them to read or change anything in your Google or YouTube account.

Content you submit

Some tools accept text you type, such as a channel name or a short description of your channel. We process this to produce the result you asked for. Certain tools send this text to our AI provider to generate output (see section 6).

Technical information

We collect your IP address to apply rate limits and prevent abuse of the public tools. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We may keep basic server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Public YouTube data

Our tools show public information about YouTube videos and channels that we retrieve from the YouTube Data API using our own API key. This is public data about the videos or channels you look up. It is not taken from your Google account.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the tools
  • Create your account and keep you signed in
  • Track your credit balance and the actions that use credits
  • Apply rate limits and detect or prevent abuse and fraud
  • Keep the service secure and fix problems
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Google sign-in and data

We use Google sign-in only to confirm who you are. We request access to your basic profile, which gives us your name and email address. We do not request access to your YouTube account, your videos, or your subscriptions, and we cannot post, edit, or read content in your account.

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can review or remove our access at any time in your Google Account under the third-party connections settings. Removing access there does not delete your VidBonk account; to do that, use the delete option in your dashboard.

6. AI processing

Some tools use a third-party AI service (Microsoft Azure OpenAI) to generate text, such as a channel description. When you use one of these tools, the text you provide is sent to that service to produce the result. We send only what is needed for the feature and do not include your email or sign-in tokens. Your use of these features is also subject to the AI provider's terms and privacy practices.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only. These keep you signed in and protect form submissions. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Because these cookies are required for the service to function, they are set when you use the site. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the service may then stop working.

8. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the service, and only as needed:

  • Google, for sign-in and for retrieving public YouTube data.
  • Microsoft Azure, for the AI features described above.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers, which store and serve the application.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will let you know.

9. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States, India, and others. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, where the law requires them.

10. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information, including your name, email, and sign-in tokens, along with your credit history and any reports tied to your account.

After deletion we keep a one-way hashed identifier that contains no personal data. We use it only to prevent the same identity from repeatedly creating accounts to claim sign-up credits. We may also retain limited information where the law requires it, and routine backups may persist for a short period before they are overwritten.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honor these requests for our users regardless of location.

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your account and personal information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You can delete your account and its data at any time from your dashboard. For any other request, contact us at support@vidbonk.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct your information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under that law.

12. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required by their local law, which is 13 in some countries and 16 in others. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Sign-in tokens are encrypted at rest, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to systems is limited. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address issues promptly.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will provide a clearer notice. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.

15. Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email us at support@vidbonk.com.
